Network of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in India responds to health and human rights of Sexual Minorities

The aim of the project is “Network of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in India responds to health and human rights of Sexual Minorities” and is supported by Amplify Change. Project implementation has been incepted from November 2016. The Program supports to strengthen & build capacity of network member 25 Community Based Organizations and INFOSEM to reach mainstream civil society for human rights; the capacity building focuson Advocacy, Evidence gathering, Research, Communications forpromoting human and legal rights of LGBT to participate as equal citizens in the social and political life in India. It is necessary to build CBOs capacity, to create stronger linkages and networks between community organizations and civil society, and provide longer-term support to these groups.Shaan Foundation is the implemented partner of The Humsafar Trust in Connect programme .

The project is broadly classified in six themes covering Advocacy, Capacity building, Information dissemination, Research, Networking and Resource mobilization, Resources sharing. The main goal is strengthening the contributions of sexual minority communities in India to effectively respond to the health, human and legal rights of sexual minorities to participate as equal citizens.
